Whitchurch Alport have managed to attract a global brand to their ever-growing list of sponsors.

The latest to attach themselves to Alport are Ornua Ingredients UK Ltd, who have a production facility in Waymills, just a few miles away from Yockings Park.

Alport’s press officer Martin Wild works at the Waymills facility and was thrilled to get company backing.

“It’s another huge statement from us that we are able to persuade organisations like Ornua to enter into this kind of sponsorship.

“A few of the lads that work alongside me are regulars at Yockings and we’re hoping that we can have an Ornua day at least once a season, where staff can come and enjoy a day watching football.

“That kind of thing is vital in terms of improving morale and it allows us to give our staff a little bit of something back for their hard work.”

The deal will see strategically placed Ornua logos on advertisement hoardings behind the goal at Yockings, as well as prominent space in Alport’s revamped The Timekeeper matchday magazine.

The firm’s Continuous Improvement manager Nigel Peters, and HR Partner Clare Cliffe both made the trip to the Black Park Road ground and were impressed with the set-up.

It convinced them to get involved as Clare explained: “I have to admit I’m not much of a football fan but there are a lot of people making a lot of noise about Whitchurch Alport, so it makes perfect sense for Ornua Ingredients UK Ltd to link up with them.

“Their core values are very similar to ours in many ways. They have put the town on the map and do a lot of fine work off the pitch as well as on it. We want to give local people the opportunity of employment with us and through Alport’s excellent media feeds we can reach a wider audience.

“If people can make a connection with Ornua through Whitchurch Alport Football Club, that will be hugely beneficial.

“We’re really excited by this sponsorship and are proud to be connected to a progressive, local community club.”
