A Memorable Saturday For Joe

Saturday turned out to be a day to remember for Squires Gate midfielder Joe Noblet.

Joe fired home a 40 yard screamer nine minutes from time to clinch a 2-1 win for Gate over Barnoldswick Town, which moved them out of the Premier Division relegation zone for the first time in several weeks.

Then, after grabbing headlines in the NWCFL, Joe appeared as a contestant on the popular ITV show Take Me Out in the edition screened on Saturday night, where he bagged himself a date and a trip to the Isle Of Fernando with an attractive lady called Megan.

For anyone not familiar with the show, which is presented by Paddy McGuiness, a single man tries to obtain a date with one of thirty single women.  The women stand on stage underneath thirty white lights, each with a button in front of them.

A single man is then brought down on stage via the 'Love Lift' and tries to persuade the women to agree to this date in a series of rounds, playing a pre-recorded video discussing his background, displaying a skill (such as dancing or playing a musical instrument), or playing another video in which the man's friends or family reveal more about his virtues and philosophy.

Joe obviously appealed to the ladies on the panel on Saturday evening, with 26 of 30 showing an interest in him, but in the end he was paired up with Megan, and the two will appear again next Saturday evening to tell how their trip went.

Due to the obligations of the show, Joe can't go into any details about how the trip went, but he said: "Going on the show was a fantastic experience and something I've always talked to my friends about going on. I don't take myself too seriously and hopefully I'll come across like that on the show".

To find out how Joe gets on, tune in to the next edition of Take Me Out on ITV this coming Saturday.
