Abbey Hey 3 Warrington Town 2

Abbey Hey manager Luke Gibson:  "We knew we had to be at our best if we were to take anything off Warrington. We had a game plan and stuck to it throughout the game. I feel we caused them problems and we could have scored a few more with a little more calm in the final third.

"Having said that, we defended fairly well throughout and did well to only concede the two goals. However, I'm extremely proud of the togetherness the lads showed to get the win".

AFC Liverpool 3 Radcliffe Borough 2

AFC Liverpool manager Paul Moore: "'It's a massive win for us, the first time we have ever got into the First Qualifying Round and it's great credit to the lads the way they did it.

"I thought that we should've been out of sight, hitting the bar, post, a goal disallowed and should've had a pen, but it wasn't to be and Radcliffe got two quick goals after the break.

But we kept playing the way we had, didn't panic and got our just rewards and to score the winner in the last minute, well that's just perfect but we can't rest on that.

"It'll be a tough game in the next round, but we'll give it our best and on our day, who knows".

Silsden 0 Padiham 2

Padiham manager Steve Wilkes: "We knew we'd let ourselves down in the league fixture last Tuesday and we had to put that right, and did so quite convincingly in the end.

A great day for everyone involved with the club, and we now look forward to playing in the first qualifying round.

Brighouse Town 1 Atherton Collieries 1

Atherton Collieries manager Michael Clegg: "It was our best performance of the season, we controlled the game, missed a few chances and should have won. But it all means nothing if we don't win the replay.

"Brighouse are a great side, but I think they will feel a bit fortunate that they got a chance to have another chance at getting through".

Alsager Town 2 Shaw Lane Aquaforce 1

Alsager Town manager Will Ryder: "A fast start led to us going 2-0 up inside the first 8 minutes. We showed good composure, and passed the ball well to break down the opposition.

"When we had to stay solid, our young team showed good maturity, although the last 15 minutes were very nervy, especially from the sidelines!  But we hung on for the deserved victory.

"I was only informed after the game that the club have never won two FA Cup games in one season, so we managed to make history. It was a  great team display and I'm delighted to be through into the next round".

Tadcaster Albion 2 Colne 5

Colne manager Steve Cunningham: "What a performance! The whole club are very proud of the players.

"We knew Tadcaster Albion were a strong side and sitting top of the NCEL, and that we had to be at our best to come away with anything from the game. The players put in our best display of the season and we fully deserved the win and the chance to be in the hat for the 1st Qualifying Round, the first time in 11 years.

"Special mention to the travelling Red Army, 12th man is an understatement. They are a credit to our league!"

Congleton Town 4 Handsworth Parramore 3

Congleton Town Secretary Ken Mead: "In what was probably their worst 45 minutes so far this season, the Bears found themselves two goals behind in the first half hour.

"They say there are turning points in sport and this was to be the case in this match. Firstly, the Bears managed to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time when Scott McGowan's shot was pushed out by 'keeper Sneath only for a grateful Rich Bailey to follow up and fire home. That gave a half time score line that seemed most unlikely during the previous 44 minutes.

"The Bears were much livlier in the second half and another major incident was about to turn the game. Firstly the Ambers looked as though they were going to restore their two goal lead but a cracking shot hit the inside of the post and flew across goal and away to safety.

"Not long after, Scott McGowan latched on to a headed clearance and when brought down by Griffiths, the referee awarded the penalty and dismissed the defender. Brian Matthews rifled home to level the scores.

"McGowan's influence was to have a major bearing on the outcome as first he broke down the right and neatly lifted the ball over the advancing Sneath on 77 minutes.

"With a man down and the need for the Ambers to push forward, the Bears had some extra attacking space to work with and Richard Bailey got down to the goal line before pulling the ball across to find McGowan a yard out to simply slide the ball into the net on 86 minutes.

"The two goal cushion was important as with just over a minute to go, the visitors were awarded a penalty coverted by Jon Froggatt but there were no further scares".
