Ashton Town have announced a number of personnel changes on and off the field for the coming season.

Manager John Brownrigg's back room staff has some new faces, with former Blackpool player Danny Coid joining as player/assistant Manager.

The 33 year old completed the amazing feat of four promotions with the Seasiders, resulting in Premiership football for the Tangerines, and also had a spell at Accrington Stanley, whom Town take on at the MSO Ashton Town Stadium on Thursday 30th July, with a 7.45pm kick off.

Frank Duffy has been appointed coach and head scout, joining from Burscough.  Frank has years of experience in the game and also doubles up as an Everton FC scout.

Adam Rooney returns to the club following a juggle with his employment.  Adam has been part of John Brownrigg's set up for years, and he teams up again at Town as goalkeeper coach and physio.

Billy Bristow completes the set up as Assistant Physio. Billy is a popular guy at Town and has undertaken various roles at the club.

There are also changes at board level.

After serving an amazing near 60 years at the club, Billy Pomfrett moves away from the committee to become Life Member.  Jimmy Cahill now takes over as Club President.

Stephen Halliwell steps down as Vice Chairman and leaves the club, while keeping the Pomfrett tradition, Billy's son Ian joins the committee after years of immense work behind the scenes at the club.

Town Chairman Mark Hayes said: These really are exciting times at the club. The moves and appointments will do wonders for the club’s stability and longevity.

“The appointment of Danny Coid as player/assistant manager excites me. To attract a player of his stature and experience within the game speaks volumes about the direction this club is going in. I can't wait for the season to get underway".
