Winsford United have announced a partnership with Winsford Wolves Visually Impaired Football Club.

The Wolves were established in April 2015 by Craig Acton and Joshua Downing, with sighted coach Claire Acton and secretary Natasha Jenkins.

They decided to set up a team to help visually impaired players get into football and they have entered The National Visually Impaired Football League.

The partnership will see Winsford United working with the new team and helping them to establish themselves.

Winsford United Development Officer Chris Appleton said: "This link is another step in the right direction and building a positive image within Winsford.  It's also brilliant to be able to help Winsford Wolves in establishing them as it’s a fantastic incentive.

"Craig, Josh, Claire and Natasha are extremely keen and with players travelling from the length of the country, the dedication shown is magnificent.  We are delighted to be able to work with them”.

Winsford United Secretary Bob Astles added: "They (Wolves) play other visually impaired teams all over England and they were looking for somewhere to call home. Naturally we were delighted to offer them a base at The Barton Stadium".

The Wolves Team will be fundraising within Winsford over the coming months and also have their own Just Giving page, which can be found by clicking here.
