A group from Runcorn Town will be heading for Wales on Sunday 28th June to raise funds for the club by climbing Mount Snowdon.

The event is open to anyone who wishes to join in, and all monies raised from sponsorship of the event will go directly to the club’s Ground Fund Appeal.

James Holland, one of the organisers, explained the background to the event.

“Myself and Glyn Davies set up the Ground Fund at the beginning of 2014/15 season, with the aim being to raise enough funds for Runcorn Town to purchase their Pavilions Home.

“To date we have raised just under £3,000, with most of this being from the Ground Fund Lottery where players can win a weekly progressive jackpot, and also from donations on match days and via our Go Fund Me page, which can be found by clicking here.

“In the past, a small group of supporters have done several sponsored walks from Chester City Centre to Runcorn to help raise funds for the club, so this time we decided on something different to do in close season, and Snowdon seemed like a great challenge!

“We are hoping about 20 people will take part, including supporters, players and club officials”.

The club are providing transport for all those wishing to take part, and a coach will leave from the Pavilions at 7.30 am on the morning of the 28th June, returning approximately 12 hours later.

Anyone interested in joining them can contact James on 07894 034985.

People can donate or sponsor the challenge via the Go Fund Me page on the link above.
