Glossop North End - the club have announced that entry to the game against St Helens Twon at Surrey Street on Monday 30th March will be just £1.

Chairman Dave Atkinson said: "It has been an incredible season for fans of The Hillmen so far, with results meaning progress to the semi finals of four cup competitions and a strong challenge for the league title.

"In the latter there are still a lot of games to play, and our home and away supporters are committing more cash than they ordinarily might.

"Therefore, for our home game with St Helens on Monday 30th March entrance to the game will be just £1 for every spectator.  I hope that this is a way we can reward our most loyal supporters for a their amazing backing, and perhaps tempt a few people to back to the ground to watch our terrific team".

St Helens Town – four members of the club’s North West Youth Alliance Under 18s team – Jordan Wynne (captain), Dominic Wallis, Mikey Coburn and John Fortes – were selected for the Liverpool County FA team for their fixture on Sunday 15th March.

Town Chairman John McKiernan said: “The Under 18s have had a superb second half of the season, losing only once in 8 games since the start of 2015.  Almost all the under 18s players will be eligible next season having played a year above their actual age group, so all bodes well for the future”.

"We have an important run of league games on the horizon, as well as a Reusch First Division Cup semi-final coming up this weekend, so to get a player in like Steve at this stage is good news for us."

Barton Stadium dressing room refurbishment – a joint effort between landlords Winsford United and tenants 1874 Northwich has seen improvements made to the dressing rooms at the Barton Stadium.

The home dressing room facilities have been improved with the installation of tree new showers, and a deep clean of the room.  Similar improvements are planned for the away dressing room in weeks to come.

The improvements have been made possible by a £1000 grant given to Winsford United by Winsford Town Council, with volunteers from 1874 Northwich providing the labour.

The showers were viewed by the Winsford Town Council Mayoress prior to the Winsford Walkabout event, which took place earlier in the month and started at the Barton Stadium.
