Nelson Football Club are seeking a new Club Secretary, for an immediate start in preparation for the 2015/16 season.
The Club are looking for a suitable, experienced individual to take over the essential role as Club Secretary, as a result of the current Club Secretary having to step down due to work commitments.
The role would suit someone with excellent organisational and communication skills to work alongside the Club's Manager, Chief Executive and Chairman.
Experience within similar positions or an understanding of football administration and compliance is required.
Role Description
The main purpose of the role is to be the principal football administrator for Nelson Football Club. The Club Secretary carries out or delegates all the administrative duties that enable the club’s football teams to function properly.
Responsibilities of Club Secretary
- Official contact between Club, County FA, Leagues and other clubs
- Work closely with the club appointed officers in ensuring the smooth running of the club’s football teams
- Ensure club affiliation and league membership
- Ensure effective correspondence and communication
- Match Day duties to support team and officials
- Pre match arrangements with opposition and officials
- Player Registrations
- Handling player and club discipline reports
- Attending League AGM’s
- Dealing with correspondence
- Reporting results
This is a voluntary unpaid position although travel expenses will be covered by the club. Applicants must be able to attend all home and away games, and all club and League meetings when required.
The club hope to find an applicant who can get involved this season, working alongside the current club secretary in order to become familiar with the role prior to 2015/16 season onwards.
