Congleton Town have announced that they have parted company with manager Jim Vince, following Saturday's defeat in the FA Vase tie against Whitley Bay.

Vince had been in charge at the club since February 2012, when he took over from Dean Sibson.

A statement on the club website said: "Both the club and Manager Jim Vince agreed that it was a good time to look for a change of direction. The club would like to thank Jim for his hard work over the last three years, both on and off the field".

Jim Vince's assistants, Steve Hardy and Mike McDonald, will remain at the club.

Club Secretary Ken Mead added: "The club want to keep some continuity, and is looking towards Steve Hardy and Mike McDonald, along with support from the senior players, to look after team affairs. The club is not actively seeking applications for the post at this stage".
