Nelson - the Blues were unfortunately victims of a break-in at the club on Monday evening. Thieves smashed windows in the bar, offices and hospitality areas and stole items from the club. The award was presented to the club by League Chairman Dave Tomlinson and accepted on Dean's behalf by Richie Cowderoy, pictured left.
AFC Liverpool - striker Ronnie Morgan completed an unusual feat when he scored his third goal for the Reds against Bacup & Rossendale Borough deep into stoppage time in the Men United Cup tie on 26th October, to clinch a 3-2 win.
One year previously to the day, 26th October 2013, Ronnie scored his only previous hat trick for the club at the same stage of the same competition, when he came on as a substitute against West Didsbury & Chorlton just after the hour mark. He grabbed his first goal two minutes later, his second on 76 minutes and wrapped up his hat trick with five minutes to go.
Against Bacup, he scored his first goal after ten minutes, his second five minutes into the second half, and then rounded off the afternoon with a last gasp winner five minutes into stoppage time.
Silsden - former Hull City and Bradford City legend Dean Windass was the speaker at the Cobbydalers' Sportman's Dinner last Saturday night. The event was a sell out with many of the Bantams' fans in attendance.
Club Press Officer Jim Rosser said: "Dean answed lots of questions and throughout he was always positive about the people he had worked with and the fans. He got a standing ovation from everyone in the clubhouse with lots of chants off “DEANOOO” DEANOOO”. He signed autographs and had his photo taken with lots of his admirers and had a good natter with Cobbydalers' manager Andy Geary. Deano had a smile on his face throughout the evening".
Staffordshire FA Vase draw - Eccleshall have been given a home tie in the quarter finals of the competition and will face either Wolverhampton SC or Sporting Khalsa. If Hanley Town overcome Uttoxeter Town, they face another away trip, this time to Stone Old Alleynians. Ties are scheduled to be played on 10th January 2015.
