For the first time in several weeks, we had full programmes of fixtures in the Premier and First Divisions on Saturday.

In the Premier Division, Runcorn Linnets remain top and reached the 50 point mark, but were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Abbey Hey in an eventful game.

Kevin Towey and Matthew Atherton gave Linnets a two goal lead inside 18 minutes, but after Jonathon Hardy and Nico Collins scored second half goals to pull Abbey level, they had their keeper sent off and the game delayed half hour in stoppage time due to an injury to Kiarno Samms.

Glossop North End maintained their position in second place, two goals in a minute from Tom Bailey just on half time helping them to a 3-1 win over Bacup & Rossendale Borough at Surrey Street, a result which keeps the visitors bottom of the table.

1874 Northwich are third after a 4-2 win over Maine Road at the Barton Stadium. Matthew Beadle scored twice to take him on to 15 for the season, and Neil Chappell was also on target for 1874 against his old club.

Runcorn Town and Colne both recorded high scoring away wins. Town won 6-1 at Stockport Sports, Paul Shanley scoring twice and Daniel Boyle wrapped up a 5-1 win for Colne at AFC Liverpool with a goal in the last minute to complete his hat trick.

Ashton Athletic are in fifth place, although they looked to be heading for all three points at home to Silsden until Craig Nicholls equalised five minutes from time to rescue a point for the visitors.

Squires Gate also shared four goals with Winsford United at the Royal British Legion Stadium, Jack Sowerby grabbing both goals for Gate, and the other games in the division all ended in home wins.

Three second half goals saw Bootle through to a 3-0 win over Alsager Town, and after West Didsbury & Chorlton established a three goal lead over Barnoldswick Town, the visitors refused to throw in the towel and reduced the deficit with two goals in six minutes from Martin Broderick and Aaron Hollindrake.

St Helens Town have now gone seven games without a league win after going down 2-0 at Congleton Town, and the same score at Nelson ensured that AFC Blackpool remain in second bottom place in the Premier Division.

In the First Division, Atherton Collieries remain top despite being the team without a game, although their nearest challengers won to keep the pressure on.

Two goals from Craig Cairns helped Cammell Laird 1907 to a 4-0 win over Ashton Town, and after being a goal down at half time, two goals from Craig Farnworth and Curtis Cummins' 10th of the season sealed a 3-1 win for Daisy Hill over Eccleshall at New Sirs.

Hanley Town are fourth, although they lost 2-0 at home to Chadderton, for whom James Curley scored both goals in the opening 12 minutes.

With only four points separating 5th placed Atherton LR from 14th placed Wigan Robin Park, most of the teams in the Division can keep focussed on promotion play off places as a minimum.

The two afore mentioned clubs met at Crilly Park, with the Robins emerging with a 4-1 win after being a gaol down at half time, Jake Patton grabbing a double.

Barnton drew level on points with 6th placed Rochdale Town after a 3-2 win at the Mayfield Sports Centre, and at the other end of the table the bottom three teams all picked up points.

Bottom club Oldham Boro closed the gap on Northwich Flixton Villa to two points with a 1-0 win over Widnes, although it took two goals in the last three minutes to salvage a point for Villa in a 2-2 draw with Holker Old Boys.

There was a similarly dramatic finish at Litherland REMYCA, where AFC Darwen goalkeeper Stefan Holden scored a last minute equaliser to secure his side a point in a 3-3 draw, and Cheadle Town failed to score in a league game for only the second time this season, when they lost 3-0 at home to Irlam.
