League Vice-Chairman John Cowley has announced that he is stepping down from further involvement with the League in his various roles.

As well as being League Vice-Chairman, John was also Registrations Secretary, and Chairman of the Respect Committee.

John said: "I have been reviewing the amount of time I have been spending on NWCFL business, and that time is far in excess of what I wish.

"Accordingly, I now wish to retire completely from any positions.

"After over 32 years with the League in many different capacities, I feel that my involvement has run its course.

"I would like to thank everyone for the happy times I have spent, and for the friendships I have made".

League Chairman Dave Tomlinson said: "We are obviously very disappointed that John has taken this decision, but at the same time we respect his reasons for doing so.

"He has given a great deal of time and effort for many years in various roles with the League, and on behalf of everyone I would like to thank him for the work he has done, and wish him well for the future".
