Back to full strength with league fixtures this week after a trio of teams were in FA Cup action last weekend.

First of all, a massive congratulations to Glossop North End and Runcorn Town who made it through, while Squires Gate went down in extra time of the replay at EvoStik NPL side Bamber Bridge.

Glossop North End are straight back into league action with a home tie against a rejuvenated Colne side. Three straight wins sees Steve Cunningham's side in the best run of form all season and they'd be going into the game at Surrey Street with no fear.

Glossop's last league encounter was the top of the table clash against Runcorn Linnets in which they lost 2-0. They'll be looking to bounce back and make up for lost time whilst competing in the cup matches of late.

Runcorn Linnets will be hoping to keep their unbeaten run going as they travel to 3rd placed Silsden in what could potentially be game of the day.  Silsden who have only been beaten the once in the league this season, have a current run of form of 7 games without defeat, and whilst sitting top of the form table, home advantage could prove enough to shock the leaders.

Fresh from last weeks 9-0 thumping of St Helens Town, AFC Liverpool host bottom of the form table Bacup & Rossendale Borough at the Arriva Stadium. Another midweek defeat for Bacup at Maine Road saw them lose their 9th game of the season. On current form, you could well see another thumping by the team from Merseyside.

Back from FA Cup duty, Runcorn Town face Maine Road at the Pavilions, and despite some fantastic cup wins this month, Runcorn have yet to pick up any league points in their two games.

Manager Simon Burton will be hoping that changes against Maine Road before next week's trip to Barrow in the FA Cup. Maine Road, with 1 loss in 9, will be no pushovers and a fantastic game is in prospect.

Since their defeat to AFC Liverpool earlier in the season, 1874 Northwich have only lost the one other game which was in a FA Cup replay to Prescot Cables. Going quietly about their business and being only a few points off 2nd place with plenty of games in hand, they can be classed as serious contenders this season.

They travel to Brookburn Road to face a West Didsbury & Chorlton side who, after seven straight losses, have now picked up back to back wins since the first two games of the season.

Bottom of the table AFC Blackpool travel to Bootle still seeking their first win of the season, whilst Bootle have been somewhat mix and match, no particular rhythm to their season yet, so they will be looking at putting a run together.

St Helens Town, who will be desperate to put last week’s 9-0 mauling behind them, travel to Winsford United, who are in a great run of form unbeaten in four. Both sides having a high goals to game ratio, so again, I'm expecting a few this weekend.

Ashton Athletic, who are going along nicely, host Abbey Hey who have the one win to their name this season. I'm sure we'd all be expecting an Ashton win but Abbey Hey have a habit of pulling off shock results.

Stockport Sports host Nelson and will be desperate to get back to winning ways after five games without a win. Nelson have found their feet and seem to have settled now, so expect a tough game here.

Squires Gate will have to put the FA Cup defeat to the back of their minds and get back to their early season league form. Alsager Town are their visitors this weekend, who will be buoyed by the weekend win over Stockport Sports.

Finally, Barnoldswick Town will be hoping to regain the form of their FA Vase win a few weeks back as they play host to Congleton Town. The Bears have stuttered themselves since their fantastic result against Salford in the FA Cup, albeit an abandoned game at West Didsbury hasn't helped their cause.
