Attention may once again turn to the FA Cup this weekend, but we have a full set of fixtures in the First Division with league leaders Atherton Collieries the team not in action due to their progress in the cup.

Second placed Rochdale Town welcome fourth placed Cammell Laird to the Mayfield Sports Centre. A win for the visitors could see them climb above their hosts after recording three wins out of three, following their difficult start to the campaign.

Rochdale, on the other hand, could draw level on points with leaders Colls and will look to add to their impressive goalscoring record having recorded five in their last two home matches.

Third placed Daisy Hill find themselves second in the form table following last weekend's late win at Barnton. Litherland make the trip to New Sirs having picked up just the one win since their arrival into the NWCFL.

AFC Darwen travel to Chadderton boasting an unbeaten record in the league so far but will be hoping to get back to winning ways at Chadderton, after conceding an injury time goal against Litherland REMYCA last Saturday and dropping two points. The last time this fixture was contested was in November, when Chadderton won 3-0 with Matthew Russell scoring twice.

Cheadle Town got back to winning ways at Eccleshall on Wednesday night when Dean Nolan scored in the seventh minute. That result saw the Park Road outfit move up to 13th place. They travel to Atherton Laburnum Rovers on Saturday who have now gone three matches without a win.  However, Ross McNair's side have a credible home record having won one and drawn two. This fixture last season saw Rovers win 4-1.

Eccleshall host Northwich Flixton Villa while Barnton travel to Mossley to take on Oldham Boro, with new striker Leon Knight poised to make his debut following issues with international clearance.

Holker Old Boys have played just four matches so far, picking up three points which sees them sit third bottom. They are at home to Widnes this weekend, hoping to get back to winning ways following their loss to Cammell Laird last weekend. The last time the two sides met came in February when the Old Boys recorded a 3-1 win.

Whilst the Rochdale match against Cammell Laird may have premature implications at the top of the table, my pick of the weekend's action sees Ashton Town face Irlam at Edge Green Street.

Both sides have had indifferent starts to the campaign and have been involved in high scoring matches as of late. Ashton have shipped nine goals in their last two matches while Irlam earned an impressive 1-0 win at Rochdale last weekend. It will be a tight affair, but it should be a good honest game for the neutral.

Finally, Hanley Town face a Wigan Robin Park side who are yet to pick up a point on their travels this season. Park's latest away defeat came on Saturday when they lost 4-3 at Eccleshall. Hanley, on the other hand, come into the match on the back of a 6-0 win over Ashton Town which saw Theo Stair score five goals.
