Bootle will defend the Liverpool County FA Senior Cup this coming Monday 28th April, when they face Tranmere Rovers at their Prenton Park ground in this year’s final.

After a dramatic semi-final win on penalties over a strong Everton side at the Delta Taxis Stadium, the Bucks now travel to face another professional club, and are looking to take a good support over to Birkenhead for the game.

Connor O'Neill, a member of Bootle's media team, said: "After the defeat of Everton, manager Joe Doran is looking for the Bucks to win back to back Senior Cups for the first time since 1889, when Bootle last successfully defended the trophy.

"Tranmere were the winners of the competition back in 2012 and the League 1 side are clear favorites for this tie. But the Bucks relish these occasions and will be focused on getting a result from the match.

"Whatever the result, it will be a great occasion again, and the club hopes that the whole of Bootle and surrounding areas will come and support the Bucks' quest to make history once more".

The game kicks off at 7.45 pm, with admission £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
