The official launch of the newly branded Bacup & Rossendale Borough Football Club took place at the Brian Boys West View Stadium on Monday.
At a specially arranged press conference, a panel of four club representatives outlined the new direction for the club. Manager Brent Peters chaired the conference and was accompanied by newly recruited non-executive director Rob Carder, who will be responsible for heading a team in the club’s Commercial and Marketing department, Paul Fitton (Financial non-executive director) and performance coach Karl Stringer.
Speaking at the event, Brent outlined his vision for the club and the reasons for the rebranding exercise.
“We felt the time was right to bring the whole valley together and for the club to be the flag bearers of Rossendale also”, he said. “This plan is a costly exercise, however it is all about going forward, and in the big scheme of things we are only five promotions away from the Football League.
“I’m confident that it will bring much more commercial recognition, which is vital in order to move up the footballing pyramid.
“We are very keen on attracting supporters from the other side of the Rossendale Valley as that will boost numbers on match days massively and start to grow and increase the club as time goes on.
“Being proactive is the priority and letting the fans know everything is what we shall do, through newsletters, website, social media or through local schools. One way or another, the word will be put out there to everyone, and in addition we are looking into family deals for match days because that is a market that can lead to major increases.
“The aim is to get the whole community together to achieve greater success and this is what keeps us linking the ‘journey’ theme with this historic club. The club’s motto is ‘Prosperity Through Endeavour’ and we want everyone to ‘Join the Journey’!”
