Former Congleton Town, Winsford United and Woodley Sports player Ryan Stewart has made history by being the first ever player signed by 1874 Northwich FC.

Left sided midfield player Ryan put pen to paper after last Wednesday’s first training session at the Moss Farm Leisure Complex.

Ryan said: ‘I was made up to be asked by the gaffer to be the first player ever to sign for the club and have had a spring in my step ever since. I see it as a real privilege and an honour. It’s now important to get others registered with the club and hopefully have a successful first season”.

1874 Northwich Manager Ian Street said: ‘Ryan is an outstanding individual, both as a player and as a person. He leads by example and is and will be a fantastic role model for the image of the club.

"Before I even applied for the job he was with me 100% with his encouragement and enthusiasm, and I am very pleased indeed”.
