Chadderton Target Top Half Finish
Mon 17th June 2013 | Chadderton | By Ian Templeman
Newly appointed Chadderton joint-managers Steve Patterson and Mark Cook have targeted a top-half finish in Division One in the coming season.
Previous manager Paul Buckley was forced to quit on doctor’s advice at the end of last season, so now Steve and Mark (who played for Chadderton in recent years and knows the Club well) will be looking to continue Paul’s good work.
Steve and Mark are no illusion about the scale of the task: “It’s going to be a tough league next season” said Steve.
“But we are positive about our chances. This weekend sees the return of pre-season training and nine new players have promised to take part, alongside 30 more who had already pledged allegiance to the team.
“We’re feeling positive and hopefully we can hit the ground running next season. We ended the last campaign with just one defeat in our final six games, so there was good momentum there.
“We need to build on that, and if we finish in the top half by next May, I’ll be happy”.
Chadderton have five friendlies arranged, starting on Saturday July 13th, at home to Curzon Ashton. Other friendlies arranged so far are:
Monday July 15th – Mossley (home)
Saturday July 22nd - AFC Liverpool (home)
Tuesday July 23rd – Colne (away)
Saturday July 27th – Winsford United (home)
