Presentation Evening At Winsford United

Saturday night saw the presentation of this season’s club awards at Winsford United.

Hosted by Vice-President Dave Taylor, the evening started with a set of original songs from fantastic local group Shakedown Stockholm, whose short set was applauded and appreciated by the players, officials and supporters.

The presentations then began and alongside Dave was manager Lloyd Morrison who actually presented the awards.

First up was the Supporters’ player of the season, Lois Maynard. He soon had to come back again as he also won the Players player of the season.

Following on was the Manager’s player of the season, Andy Keogh, and the Directors’ player of the season, 'Captain Fantastic', Adam Foy.

The next award was given to someone who gave a lot of time and effort to the club, over and above the necessary tasks. This went to Assistant Manager Kevin Bircumshaw.

The next two awards were given to players for their outstanding contribution to the campaign. First of all was the golden boot, given to goal scorer extrordinaire, Andy Hurst.

The award for goal of the season was won by Kyle Mcgonigle.

To round off the awards, a special presentation was made to Lee Duckworth, who over the last 15 years has kept coming back to the club. He is now leaving to take a managerial position with 1874 Northwich, which of course means he is not really going very far.

Thanks to Steve Wright for providing the information from the evening.
