A great weekend for Padiham has seen both the first team and the reserve team clinch their respective league titles.
While the celebrations at Runcorn Town were underway in the midst of the first team clinching the Premier Division title, the reserves won the Reserve Division without kicking a ball, thanks to New Mills drawing at home with Barnoldswick Town at Church Lane.
Padiham Secretary Alan Smith said: “It’s another great moment in what has been a great season for us. Only a handful of teams in NWCFL history have won the league and Reserve Division in the same season, and we can now say we have done the same.
“The reserves' management team of Chris Price, John McGregor and Ryan Haigh have done a great job, and now the title is won they can look forward to a great end to the season, when we play in the Reserve Division Cup final against Cheadle Town at the Arbories this coming Saturday, May 11th”.
