The Management Committee of The North West Counties Football League regret to announce that Ashton Town have been disqualified from the First Division Trophy competition after fielding an inelligible player.
The decision was made after it was found that Ashton Town fielded a player in their quarter final victory over West Didsbury & Chorlton, who had also played for Formby in an earlier round of this season's competition.
As a result, next week's scheduled First Division Trophy Final between Abbey Hey and Ashton Town has been postponed. West Didsbury & Chorlton and Daisy Hill have been reinstated into the competition and will now meet in a one off Semi Final tie this coming Saturday, 13th April. A new date for the final will be arranged following Saturday's match.
