AFC Liverpool will be selling copies of a new book about Liverpool FC, written by former Programme Editor Steven Horton, which has just been published.

The book, entitled “Ending the Seven-Year Itch”, looks back at the story of Liverpool FC’s 1972-73 First Division Championship and UEFA Cup triumphs, and while Steven has written articles for fanzines and written four books about local history – as well as editing the AFC Liverpool programme from 2008-09 up to the end of last season – this is the first time he has written a book related to Liverpool FC.

As the title of the book suggests, it is an in-depth look at season 1972-73 which ended a period of seven years without a trophy for Liverpool. The book includes descriptions of every match Liverpool played that season, an interview with former Liverpool captain Phil Thompson, and photographs of match day programmes, ticket stubs and other interesting material.

The book is over 200 pages in length and is priced at £12, and can be bought on match days at Valerie Park from the AFC Liverpool merchandise table, from which the club will receive a donation, or is available on Amazon for those unable to get to AFC Liverpool home games.
