Maine Road joint manager Chris Thomas has given us an update on the latest progress of the two Road players who were injured in separate incidents on Saturday.

First team captain Eddie Moran, who suffered a compound fracture of his left leg in the 12th minute of the FA Vase tie at Barnoldswick Town, remains in Skipton General Hospital, and is hoping to be released from hospital tomorrow.

Due to the nature of the fracture the hospital wanted to ensure he completed his course of antibiotics before his release. Eddie has had his fracture pinned and will be out for a sustained period.

Reserve team player Danny Hulme sustained a dislocated and fractured wrist in the Cheshire League game against Malpas and was released from hospital at lunch time today (Monday). He has had his dislocated wrist reset and his fracture pinned.

Both matches were abandoned on Saturday, and the FA Vase tie between Barnoldswick Town and Maine Road will take place tomorrow (Tuesday).

An admission charge of £1 will be made at the turnstiles by Barnoldswick Town, with all the proceeds being given to Eddie Moran.
